Terms of Use & Licence

Sales Territory Balancer — a Power BI custom visual by TCViz · Last updated: 7 October 2026 · Applies to version 1.0.0.0 and later

By installing or using Sales Territory Balancer (the "visual") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.

1. What you get

TCViz grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to use the visual inside Microsoft Power BI, for as long as these terms are respected. You may use it in commercial reports, in as many reports as you like, and share those reports with your colleagues and clients.

2. Free and Pro

The visual has a Free tier, with no time limit, and a Pro tier bought through Microsoft AppSource. The Free tier produces a complete and correct result; Pro adds the capabilities below. Licences are checked only through Power BI's own licensing API.

CapabilityFreePro
Salespeople needed per area and territories, with travel time✓✓
Automatic areas (land borders, islands), postal codes, outliers✓✓
Parameters editable in reading view; filters, bookmarks, tooltips, high contrast, English and Spanish✓✓
Your own Area field—✓
Speed per point—✓
Export CSV of the assignment—✓
Export map PDF—✓

While a report is being edited without a licence, Pro fields work under a "Pro preview" watermark so their effect can be seen; in reading view the Free result is shown and nothing is watermarked.

3. What you may not do

4. Your data

You keep all rights to your data. The visual processes it only in memory to compute and draw the territories, and transmits nothing. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

5. What the result is, and is not

The visual is a design and simulation tool. It computes a balanced assignment and shows it; it does not, and cannot, write that assignment back into your data model. Power BI custom visuals have no way to modify the dataset they read. To carry a territory plan into your model, use the CSV export or the assignment you see on screen, and load it the way you load any other data.

6. No warranty

The visual is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. TCViz does not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that it will work with every dataset or every future version of Power BI.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TCViz is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunity, arising from use of or inability to use the visual, including decisions taken on the basis of a territory plan it produced. Total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Support

Support is provided on a best-effort basis by email at support@tcviz.com. Response times are not guaranteed.

9. Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may stop using the visual at any time.

10. Changes to these terms

TCViz may update these terms. Material changes will be noted in the changelog. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
