TCViz ("we", "us", or "our") provides the ChipSlicer Hierarchy Power BI custom visual ("the Visual"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Visual collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Data the Visual Processes
ChipSlicer Hierarchy processes only the data fields that the Power BI report author explicitly binds to its data roles (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3). This data is:
- Loaded directly from the host Power BI dataset by the Power BI engine.
- Rendered in-memory inside the visual sandbox (an isolated iframe).
- Never transmitted to any external server, API, or third-party service by the Visual itself.
- Never stored persistently by the Visual.
2. License Verification
The Visual uses the official Microsoft Power BI License Manager API
(IVisualLicenseManager) to determine whether a Pro licence is active. This call
is made entirely within the Microsoft AppSource / Power BI licensing infrastructure.
TCViz does not receive, log, or store any identity or licence data from this call.
3. Data We Collect Through Our Website
If you visit tcviz.com or contact us at support@tcviz.com, we may collect your name and email address solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not sell or share this information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Cookies
The Visual itself does not use cookies. Our website may use essential session cookies and analytics cookies (e.g. aggregated page-view statistics). You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
5. Children's Privacy
The Visual is designed for business intelligence use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
6. Data Retention
Because the Visual does not transmit or store data, there is no data retention period applicable to visual-processed data. Support correspondence is retained for up to 2 years.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact support@tcviz.com.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. All data processed by the Visual remains within the Power BI secure sandbox and is subject to Microsoft's security controls.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Visual after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
